What Moves Me

I am pulling all the levers to ensure my health span matches my life span. These include optimizing nutrition, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, social connection and a sense of purpose. I want to help you do the same.

Health coaching is a career pivot for me.

I’ve worked as an illustrator/designer since the late 80’s—self-employed since 1995. Much of that work has been with clients in the health field. I have also created and run a not-for-profit cycling education program built on principles of behavior change, and a passion for empowering people.

In 2015, I employed those behavior change principles to reclaim my own health from a decade of weight gain and poor habits. I transformed a daily drinking habit into a healthy, minimalist relationship with alcohol. I restored the body composition I had enjoyed in my 20s. This transformation inspired people around me. I discovered that most of all I wanted to empower others to succeed in realizing their own health goals.

I have become increasingly frustrated with an expensive healthcare system that doesn’t have the incentive structure to help people prevent chronic disease or optimize their health. I feel drawn to be part of the solution. I believe health coaching is a key part of that.

As many others have experienced, the pandemic provided an opportunity to reevaluate and refocus. I decided to enroll in the ADAPT Health Coach Training Program. I had been eyeing it since 2018, after reading Unconventional Medicine by Chris Kresser. This course has been transformational, truly one of the best experiences of my life! Now I am ready to bring its value to you.

I became a health coach because I want to be part of the solution.

Health coaching is a collaborative partnership with someone who listens, affirms and guides your process of self discovery. Together we will identify your strengths and find your own motivation and enthusiasm for change.

I will help you focus on a clear vision and develop sustainable systems to help you realize it.

Some things we might work on together include:

  • Developing new habits to increase the nutrient content of your diet;
  • Finding movement and exercise opportunities that inspire you and fit your busy lifestyle;
  • Exploring routines for better quality sleep;
  • Discovering and replacing triggers and patterns that keep you locked in a habit you wish to break;
  • Deepening your connection to yourself and others.
